Task 27: Attach a harness to your collar

“Make a rope harness that’s attached to the ring of your collar and take some pictures.”

After receiving my collar, Roxy unsurprisingly gave me the task to take some pictures with it. Combining it with a rope harness sounded quite simple but when I started thinking of the mechanics it didn’t add up in my head. It’s quite common to start a rope harness by pulling it around yourself and using reverse tension, but how would I be able to eventually connect that to the collar?

Secondly, I had no idea what kind of harness to make. As I’ve mentioned before, Roxy doesn’t like to see the same thing twice but there comes a point when it’s hard to find new tutorials! The only thing I was certain of is wanting to combine a red and black rope since the collar is red on black. Looking at the pictures now I actually can’t remember how I did this. I started by following a tutorial but discarded it and ended up making my own creation.

I believe I made the black harness first and added the red one after. I started the red tie by attaching the rope to the ring of my collar and then wove it around the black rope in a decorative way. The end result wasn’t much to my liking at the time as the harness felt a little bit messy. It had been the first time I sort of freestyled with ropes, rather than sticking to a tutorial, which in and of itself was pretty cool. It was fun to allow myself to be creative and good to know that I had apparently tied myself often enough to improvise.

To match the rest of the look, I chose to wear a black pair of lace underwear. Fun fact, I have this pair since I was 14 and have essentially never worn it. Back then, I thought I’d save it and wear it when I’d have a girlfriend, which I still never did once I had one. But hey, it looks good with the rope and my collar, doesn’t it?
