Gratitude

As you know, I’m fairly new in the sex-blogging community. I never even realised that these kinds of blogs existed and I’m not exactly sure how I ended up here; I didn’t set out for lots of people to read my blog. It was mostly supposed to be therapeutic. But now that I’ve found the community I’m so happy that I’m here and really excited to continue and keep this up and running.

I feel like I haven’t quite caught up with everything. I suppose it’s like stepping into Disney world and there’s too much to discover at once. Firstly, there are too many blogs and too many posts that I’m interested in and want to read and too little time in my schedule so far. Secondly, it took me a while to understand what memes were and to find out that there are many of them. Thirdly, I’m still a bit lost on the SoSS, or simply not ready to make one myself.

What I do know, however, is that I feel very welcomed and acknowledged, which is both incredible and scary. All the kind words that people leave me, everyone, whether they run their own blog or not, make me feel so grateful happy. At the same time, I barely know how to respond and accept these compliments even though I felt like I’d gotten better at it. I’m just like, do I deserve this? What am I supposed to do with this attention? I don’t need anything in return for writing this blog post or uploading this picture. I’ve been told it’s quite common for us sex bloggers to have some sort of imposter syndrome when we start out and yep… that’s me.

I want to return the favour and give back to the blogging community, but I don’t feel ready to make a list or SoSS or to mention specific bloggers. I don’t feel like I have a good enough scope of everything out there yet. I have, however, started a list of other sex bloggers on my ‘BDSM links‘ page. I will have missed people here too, (do contact me!) but it’s a work in progress. Generally, though, I don’t think there’s a better blog than someone else’s (though of course, there can with certain criteria and all the kind of lists and mentions are great because it helps people find blogs they might have never otherwise come across). (And of course, everything is subjective and certain blogs will mean different things to every individual.) I think everyone brings something different and unique to the table and that’s really, really awesome!

I’m really grateful for the people that have invented and organise the different memes, SoSS, top lists, Elust etc. I’m really grateful for everyone that’s making a positive difference through writing their blogs, no matter if they’re emotional, educational and/or pleasurable posts. I’m grateful for the responses and communication between us all on Twitter, which in fact saved my site when it got suspended. And of course, I’m so grateful for all my readers and the support in likes and comments that you leave. Next year, I hope to get to making an actual SoSS of some kind.

God, I hate New Years; but I love being here on this little corner of the internet.
Thank you and let’s see what 2020 brings!

It is so overwhelming at first.. joining in and figuring out how to take part without feeling like you are intruding. I’ve fought with that feeling (and still do). I’ve been officially blogging for a year now and sometimes it’s like others are light years ahead of me. It’s not a race, we all win. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and I look forward to reading more! Happy New Year ML

I know exactly what you mean. I never know how to respond to people’s comments, so I stick with a thank you, a smiley face, a heart or something like that. I am always amazed that people take the time to read or comment on my work. Happy New Year
